Happy New Year! and sorry for the neglect [07 Jan 2008|10:14am]
[ mood | content ]
[ music | keyboard clicking, does that count? ]

Well, its been about two months since I last posted. Things have been going pretty well. In the past couple of months, I've bought a PS2, a laptop and an iPod, so I'm set tech-wise.  When not using the internet for shameless commercial indulgences, its purpose is attempting to remain with in social contact with everyone that I don't actually speak to one a regular basis.  I'm not too good at staying in touch, but I try.

Christmas was awesome this year.  Got some major spiffy swag.  Johnny made me grenade salt and pepper shakers, Geoff got me a box set of 80s underground music and made me slime earrings, and his parents gave me a food processor.  All really neat things.  Boy will people jump when they ask me to pass the salt or what?  This year, I got an entire week off from work, thanks to the fact that our office was moving and few  people were going to be in/between the offices.  Our office moved to Fairfax, which shortened my already awesome commute.  On average, it takes me like 15 minutes to get to the office.

I spend most of my time at work which is good, making money is a worthy cause.  At 15 an hour, many things become bearable I guess.  Makes life go easier with that money stuff, now that I have proper bills and such, and a bit extra to blow is nice too. Man, I'm glad this job is better than retail hell in everyway possible.

Anyways, thats it for today.  I'll write things as I deem necessary, if that often.  Day to day operations are simple and repetetive.
Work, martial arts and home again, continuously cycling, with occasional visits peppered in.

Happy New Year!!

Man, am I bad at journaling [07 Nov 2007|03:01pm]
[ mood | happy ]
[ music | TMBG ]

So in the month I've neglected my LJ, I've been kind of busy.  Having an office job has its up/down sides.  Steady pay = good, lapses in social interaction = bad.  About three weeks back, Geoff and I went to a martial arts tournament up in PA.  We both placed in our division which was pretty frickin' cool.  I earned a silver and a bronze, and Geoff earned one in each flavor, he was also a runner up for Grand Champion which is so awesome.  They mispronounced his name, but he's like at least they got the name of our school right.

Got a new phone last week.  Same number for those that know, but now I'm on Verizon instead of a pay as you go thing.  Been playing with the camera and sending texts and stuff.  This is the most technologically advanced phone I've ever owned, a color screen flip phone with a camera (no big deal to everyone else in the world).  One of the few pictures I took was of Skitso sitting on the fridge, looking mildly angry and disapproving as cats are wan to do.

Another jump, I'm really excited that I get to go see They Might Be Giants around Thanksgiving, I've only wanted to see them since I was like five.  What a sad little dream/obsession.  Well least I'm consistent.  Its funny the shows I've seen (in non chronological order).  David Bowie, Devo, Jethro Tull and now TMBG.  So its either from the seventies or just strange or some combination of the two.  Anyways enough random-ish ramblings, I'll try to be more dilligent in posting, especially if anyone else comes across this and reads it.

my weekend [02 Oct 2007|08:07am]
[ mood | that were all okay ]

Well this weekend was interesting.  I went up to New York with Geoff and his parents for his cousin Mike's wedding.  It was a simple outdoor ceremony on a campgrounds, all very lovely.  The weather was cool, but in a good way, nice and breezy.  Mindy (the bride) had a beautiful dress with a long train, which her dog Teeko kept walking over.  It was cute to have the dog involved, I guess.  He was circling the bridal party and wandering through the guest seating.  I guess the dog was doing a security detail.
The ceremony reminded me of how sick I am of Pachabel.  I hearby swear that I will not play Pachabel's March at my wedding, when ever it shall be.  There has been little concrete thought as to how my ceremony will go, all that has been done is the occasional pondering, dreaming and mild scheming.  At the ceremony I had the cutest thought.  For those of you who know Schitzo, my dad's third cat, I have created a special roll.   She is a veritable crackwhore, ill-tempered but adorable and dainty looking as anything.  My thought is that I would carry a bit of catnip in my bridal satchel and put a pinch down at the altar when it is time for the exchange of the rings.  She would have them in a little pouch or something, and because she'd run down for the catnip like the little adorable psycho druggie she is, the rings would come along just as quickly.
Anyway, after the wedding there was the reception.  The usual dancing and drinking partying thing, which of course Geoff and I took no part in.  We did our normal thing of being disgustingly cute, little kisses and such all throughout the evening.  Heh, despite sitting at the table with his parents and his Aunt Charlene and Uncle Tim (the parents of the groom).  We were being so lovey and cute that his aunt even asked his mother "so do you thinks it will be they're turn next" or something to that effect.  Geoff and I are thinking, and this is not an official statement, barring unexpected "events" which we are trying to avoid as best as possible, we will not be getting married for another 4 to 5 years.
The wedding was Saturday, and we left to come back home early Sunday afternoon.  Its was about a 5 1/2 hour drive back, so we figured we'd go to Thursday's over in Gainesville to catch the Steelers game.  We didn't make it to Thursday's.  We were at a traffic light like 5 minutes away when we became the third party in a four car accident.  All of us are fine, but if the car that hit us had had a little more momentum, his parent's would have been wearing the other car.  Thank the gods/god/force etc that no one was seriously injured or killed.  Geoff's mother complained that her neck felt a little sore, so the EMT's took every precaution.  She got put in the collar and on a back board, and was taken to the hospital.  It took almost five hours to get everything looked at (most of it waiting) to be told that everything is okay and you can go home.   Even though Geoff and I were unharmed, I decided that I needed to take it easy and didn't go to work yesterday.  I cleared it with my "Jewish mom", she was just glad to hear that we were all okay.  Thats pretty much it for now, more posting as necessary.

[ mood | artistic ]

Well people seem overjoyed to see that I am alive and posting.  Not like I have anything to say.  Still working on the driver's license thing, but it should be well handled in no time.  I went practicing with Johnny on Sunday, and other than not being used to his van I think I did pretty good.  No (further) injuries to Johnny or me and none to the van, so yeah all in all good.

And a random shift, Geoff and I are working on designing a video game, an RPG.  I'm the art director/designer type person (I draw all the pictures).  Well one of the characters in the game is going to be a pirate.  The thing is (and I ran this by Johnny) the pirate loses one of his legs while he's in your party after getting hit by a horse drawn constable's cart.  Johnny loved it, said he felt honored.

Not too much else going on I guess, if anything comes up, eh I'll scribble it up here.

Second Entry [06 Sep 2007|01:18pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]

Well, its been almost two years since I last posted. Um oops I guess.  Well now I've got another way to let people know whats happening in my life, other than Face-book.  Alot has happened in the past year, so much that my life is (happily so) nearly unrecognizable from how it was before.  For those of you who stumble upon this, and who haven't spoken to me at all since last June, I'm dating Geoff after a 5 months hiatus from December 05 to June 06.  We officially became a couple on June 15th when I up and left my "home."  I've been floating about getting my life put together in the way that only Limbo can.  And I have never been happier.  I'm at a healthy weight, I'm active (doing martial arts several times a week) and finally able to get close to my dad and grandfather.  People always say you can't choose your family, but I did. There's just too much stuff I can babble about so I'll just stop there.  And I promise, the next entry will not come two years from now.
